2002 Camaro died and started up again with knocking and sqeaking and died again?

I felt like the car was idling a little rough at a stop light and after climbing a hill right after my car just died. I twisted the battery connections a little to manage to get it running very rough and into a parking lot. after the oil dipstick was pulled out smoke came out. ive heard this can come from a bad PCV valve. i just got a new thermostat and fan sensor because the engine seems to have gotten hot and shut itself down. It also seems like the batteries have just died also. I dont know what to do. It has been over 80 degrees today and i was in a lot of stopped traffic. i would like to see it run again.
