What are the chances of my half deaf Dalmatian going deaf when he's older?

He was BAER (or BEAR, can never remember sorry guys) tested at 6 weeks and he was half deaf, apparently it only develops between 4-6 weeks. Was just wondering how common it is for Dallies to go deaf in old age, and if so should I train him as if he is totally deaf now?
