One CFL light fixture flickers, tried different bulbs?

Does that light have a dimmer switch on it? Most CFLs do not operate with standard dimmer switches which would definitely explain what you have seen. Replace the dimmer with a toggle switch or a CFL dimmer switch and dimmable CFL bulb and you should be in business.
