Do most religious people believe how big our universe really is?

I am religious, I believe that there is a supreme being who created our universe. I also know how to recognize allegory. The earth was not created in six days. If you read the Genesis creation account, and replace the word "day" with the word "age" where "age" is defined as an unspecified amount of time, it goes hand in hand with evolutionism. In the first "age" god created light (would support big bang). In the second "age" god created water and atmosphere, third "age" god created the land (earth developed to become habitable). Fourth "age" god created lights and firmament (solar system stabilized). Fifth "age" god creates sea creatures and birds (evolution states life first came from oceans, then sea creatures came onto land and evolved into birds). Sixth "age" god created wild beasts and livestock, and finally humans. Now let's say "age" is defined as ten billion years. It jives to me.
